Ukhrul, November 14 2018:
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has come out strongly against the sudden bandh imposed on Imphal-Ukhrul road on November 12, near Sekta and termed it inappropriate, reports our correspondent.
Taking note of the reason for imposing the bandh, TNL extended its condolence to the bereaved family members of Yaikhom Gobind Singh S/o Ingocha of Sekta who reportedly died at JNIMS hospital amidst accusation of medical negligence.
According to a statement issued by TNL president Hopingson A Shimray the bandh on November 12 on Imphal-Ukhrul road was inappropriate and condemned the vandalization of Ukhrul bound passenger vehicles by bandh supporters and added that it had caused immense hardship and inconveniences to the travelers.
The incident which occurred at Imphal, though ugly and condemnable did not warrant a bandh on Imphal-Ukhrul road, it added.
The TNL further urged all to maintain communal harmony and promote peaceful coexistence.
