Denouncing Government of India for not protecting the people from North East, various organizations have accused security lapses in the recent mass exodus of NE people from different parts of the country following threats on their lives.
In a statement, Convenor of Protection & Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) E Chanu Tamphatombi pointed out that India government insisted that it was nothing but rumours even after many North East people were attacked and one Manipuri student lost his life.
PPCM also appreciated the efforts of United Naga Council, All Naga Student's Association, Naga People's Organisation, Senapati District Students Association, Mao Council and Senapati Town Committee in opening a help desk at Mao Gate to provide succour to Manipuri people who returned home following threats on their lives.
Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) also charged the Indian government with neglecting the people of North East.
In a statement, PLMPAM asserted that killing of 5 (five) people including a Manipuri student was a clear example of abandoning North East people to their own fate by Indian government.
Meanwhile, taking a serious note over the conduct of Indian government, Publicity Secretary of HERICOUN L Sanajaoba Meetei alleged that central government has been looking down on the Mongoloid people of NE India.
HERICOUN also asserted that the steps taken by the respective state government to ensure protection of NE people are not adequate.
