Imphal, January 18 2017:
All Manipur VDF Welfare Association (AMVDFWA) has warned to launch cease work strike if the State Government fail to address their demands by February 20 .
AMVDFWA president Laishram Deven, during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today, said the association has long been demanding a separate battalion for VDF personnel, revision of honorarium and service security.
The State Government, however, has not acted on the demands till date, Deven lamented.
VDF personnel will launch cease work strike if the Government fail to address the demands laid down by AMVDFWA by February 20, he said while urging all the VDF personnel to comply with the decisions made by the association.
"If either DGP or IGP try to dismiss any VDF personnel for not obeying orders during our protest, all the VDF personnel registered with the association will resign", Deven said.
Manipur has 10,050 VDF personnel.
They have been demanding a raise in their monthly pay from Rs 5000 a month to Rs 15,000 .
