GOC Red Shield Division, flags off successful candidates of senapati

Imphal, September 09 2012:
The Army Recruitment Rally, that was conducted at Senapati district in the month of July, this year, with the objective of recruiting youth from the remote areas of Manipur and to give them an opportunity, on par with the mainland youth, for employment in the Armed forces .
Of the 16000 youth who appeared for the recruitment tests, 91 candidates had qualified from Senapati district alone and a similar number from the other regions of the state.
This overwhelming result of Senapati, had been possible by the conscientious efforts put by the Senapati Brigade and its subsidiary units in preparing them for the recruitment.
GOC, Red Shield Division had been instrumental in guiding the Senapati Brigade in achieving this remarkable recruitment results.
The selection of these youth from Manipur, in the Army, is a stepping stone not only in the region, but the state as a whole.
It predominantly exhibits the resolve of the youth to join the mainstream.
The youth who successfully qualified in the recruitment will add glory to their families, the State and Nation alike, in defending their motherland and leading a respectful life.
Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen, VSM, GOC Red Shield Division, flagged off the the successful youth on 09 Sept 12 from Senapti town to Dimapur for their final documentation.
The General in his flagging off speach complimented the successful candidates and said that the Army is a noble profession since long-standing times and will give them an opportunity to safeguard the nation from adversaries.
He acknowledged that the natives of Manipur have a unique and natural ability for soldiering and must come forward to join the Indian Army.
He furthered that these candidates will be sent for military training for a duration of one year, in the various training centre's across the country.
He mentioned on successful completion of training, a young soldier will earn in par with many of the best paying jobs of the country, in addition to the various perks and privileges exclusively meant for the defense forces.
The General complimented the parents of these youth, for inspiring and guiding them to join the Armed forces.
He also said that their selection into the Indian Army will inspire a large number of youth, from their homeland to enroll with the Armed forces.
He lastly extended his best wishes to the successful youth for their life ahead.
