Integrated check post at Moreh by March: Ibobi

Chief Minister O Ibobi on Monday told the House that the integrated check post at Moreh is expected to be ready by March next year.
During the general discussion on Budget Estimates 2015-16 in the State Assembly Ibobi said the construction of integrated check post is underway in full swing.
He hoped that the checking on goods transported along Imphal-Moreh road will be effective once the integrated check post is functional.
He stated that his Government is concentrating on various development projects of the State depending on the financial position.
Ibobi also made out the financial situation of the State in the face of imminent loss of special category status.
The Chief Minister said his Government is working on increasing the pace of revenue collection and cited that the entire job of the Electricity Department has been tasked with two separate companies.
Installing a great number of electricity prepaid metres will facilitate collection of huge revenue, he said and mentioned that the Centre has hailed the State Government for the development.
Most of the pipes used in the hydrant system in Imphal municipal area are wearing down, he said while informing that the Government has taken up plan to ensure sufficient supply of safe drinking water in and around Imphal.
He commented on the status of the Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) saying that the Government is making efforts on ensuring proper functioning of the councils in the hill districts.
He warned that misappropriation of public funds by individuals is liable to be punished.
