As per the notification released by the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel regarding the interview for identification/selection of beneficiaries, under PMEGP for the year 2017-2018 in respect of Chandel district which was rescheduled from February 26 to March 7, the Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) and JAC of PMEGP had submitted a memorandum to the Minister concerned of Commerce and industries through the DC on February 8 not to conduct fresh interviews until and unless the issue of PMEGP 2016-2017 beneficiaries is solved.
A press release issued by vice president NSUC and convenor JAC stated that the Union and the JAC had also released the matter in the local dailies.
It stated that the department concerned has failed to pay attention to the demand of the Union and the JAC and further urged the State Government not to hold fresh interview until an amicable solution is brought.
The Union and the JAC warned that the department concerned will bear the responsibility of any untoward incident which will erupt if the said interview is conducted against the wishes of the Union and the JAC.
