BSF top brass takes stock of Nov 16 blasts at State Assembly

The Border Security Force took serious note of the twin grenade blasts at State Legislative Assembly on Nov 16 which injured three personnel (one BSF and two Assembly security staff).
Inspector General of the Mizoram and Cachar Frontier of BSF, Headquarters Silchar (Assam) Dr KC N Mahali, IPS, reached Imphal yesterday to take stock of the incident, said a statement of the office of the Deputy Inspector General SHQ BSF CI (OPS) Manipur today.
He visited State Assembly Complex and carried out thorough inspection in and around the campus to study and work out if any amendment or rectification is required regarding security measures.
He instructed the BSF officers to enhance the security of the State Assembly Complex and remain vigil round the clock and carry out anti sabotage checking.
He recommended various methods including use of latest electronic gadgets and manpower to foil any attempt of Anti National elements, said the statement.
He later visited Manipur High Court Complex and briefed the BSF officers and troops to remain alert.
He also called on the State Director General of Police and discussed about the matter and other issues connected with security.
His visit in the State at this point of time is a moral boost to the BSF troops and will be greatly beneficial in bringing about a positive change about security measures,' said the statement.
