Ex-servicemen rally held

Imphal, February 12 2017:
Ex-servicemen rally was organised by Jwalamukhi Battalion of Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division on February 17 at Motbung.
The rally was attended by 100 veterans, Veer Nari, members of 13 CSOs and 17 village chiefs from Kangpokpi, Senapati and Imphal West.
The rally was inaugurated by 2IC Rampal Singh, Officiating Commandant.
The Officiating Commandant said that the armed forces will look into their welfare of veterans and war widows.
The aim of organising the rally was to resolve anomalies in disbursement of pension, land and legal cases.

A medical team and career counselling cell were also set up at the venue.
On the other hand, Khuga Battalion also organised a rally for the ex-servicemen at Khuga, Churachandpur yesterday under the aegis of Red Shield Division.
The rally was inaugurated by the District Welfare Officer and Commander of 27 Sector Assam Rifles.
The rally was joined by about 749 ex-servicemen, 15 War widows, 11 Veer Naris along with their dependents.
The claim documents for 155 ex-servicemen amounting to Rs 84,26,981 has been prepared to rectify the anomalies in their pensions, out of which 83 ex-servicemen have received the arrears for a sum of Rs 41,50,420 till date.
