MLA Nemcha inaugurates houses for quake victims

Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen today inaugurated the newly constructed houses which were ravaged during this year's earthquake and a Durga Mandir at Lamchok in Irang Part-I under Sadar Hills administrative jurisdiction in Senapati district.
Laudably, the lady MLA along with a host of ADC Sadar Hills members braved the scorching heat from Tujang Vaichong to Lamchok village, situated in the remote area of Irang Part-I over a ghoulish village road to inaugurate the earthquake victims' houses and the Durga Mandir.
Bhumi Prasad Vikas Basnet, executive member, local MDC Sagar Gewali, Tujang Waichong MDC Seikhosat Kipgen, Keithelmanbi MDC Lamminthang Kipgen and recently nominated MDC Milan Pradhan accompanied the local MLA at the inaugural function.
The four houses and the village Mandir were among the severely and partially affected during the strong earthquake that rocked the area on January 4 .

Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function, the MLA said that the Congress Government of Manipur is committed to addressing the grievances of its denizens due to the destructive earthquake that hit the State on January 4.The local MLA also said "I have grave concern for the remote areas of my constituency and I am very much pleased and delighted to witness my noble initiatives bringing tremendous changes and development which had never happened before in the remote areas Kangpokpi AC." She pointed out that a number of Government LP, UJB, Primary and Junior High schools have been set up at various remote villages including Lamchok, Thaldara, Ghimiri, Harup Khopi, Gorkha Harup, Rijadhar, Kharpani, etc in five years while water supply, road connectivity have improved immensely.
Most importantly electricity have been introduced and most of the remote villages are now electrified, added Nemcha.
The MLA further said that black topping the road between Lamchok and Manedara (around around 15 Kms.) has already been approved by the Central Govt recently and the construction work will begin under PMGSY very soon while a new road connecting Chawangkining and Gorkha Tapon has been put up for construction.
While inaugurating the Durga Mandir with a motive to promote the spirit of 'God is One', the local MLA also said that though our idea and ways of worshiping may vary, there is only one God and added "we are all His children." Motivating the Nepali community to live peacefully, MLA Nemcha Kipgen said that those who have voter/Adhaar Card are genuine citizens of India and added "We pay land tax to the Government for the land we settle belong to the Government.
"Do not be anxious, live peacefully and cohesively, Government is there to protect you", the local MLA said while motivating them to be committed and sincere towards the Government for development and upliftment of the society.
