Piglets, chicks distributed

A confidence building and technical skills training for piggery and poultry livelihood beneficiaries was jointly organised by World Vision India and Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry at Adimjati Amenity Hall.
Piglets and chicks were distributed to the beneficiaries during the programme.
Dr H Chaoba, Director, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Government of Manipur, Dr Shalemi K Tarao, programme manager, World Vision India and Dr Jayraj Pukhrambam, Veterinary Officer, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Government of Manipur graced the programme as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the programme, Dr H Chaoba said, "World Vision India has been engaging in various activities for the welfare of children and the less-privileged.
Piglets and chicks are distributed to 100 beneficiaries of Ukhrul and Imphal West districts and it is heartwarming to see such commendable initiative is being taken up" .
Dr Shalemi said, "It is important for every parents to mold their children to grow into good human beings.
Similarly, leaders elected by the people too have a responsibility to provide a platform for the children to build their career.
Parents have been going through many financial and emotional difficulties while taking care of their children.
100 beneficiaries have been selected with an aim to help them generate income and provide education to their children" .
Dr Shalemi also urged the parents to rear the distributed piglets and chicks with commitment.
Technical skills training on how to rear piglets and chicks was also conducted.
