Employees stage sit in

The ongoing cease work strike of the Manipur Government employees and departmental wise sit-in protest being carried out under the aegis of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO on the demand for implementation of 7th Pay Commission's recommendation in the State, entered its 128th daytoday.
Employees of Forest Department staged a sit in protest at the Department premises today in connection with the demand of the JAC.
Speaking to media persons, Forest Department LDC Koijam Shyamsunder lamented the negligence and inaction of the State Government.
He appealed the Govt and the authorities concerned not to issue arrest warrants for the employees and members of the JAC who are carrying out democratic form of agitation while adding that holding a talk discussing the demands of the JAC will bring positive impact.
He informed that necessary arrangements have been made for a team of delegate from the.JAC to meet the president; PM and FM in the 1st week of August.
On the other hand, Project Office ICDP Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services, Porompat also staged a sit-in-protest today at its premise, as part of the cease work strike and departmental wise protest.
Speaking to media persons, Th Sharatchandra, LDC, Project Office ICDP Veterinary AH Services, Porompat lamented that the State Government has been ignoring the legitimate demand of the Manipur Government employees for implementation of 7th Pay in the State till date, although the BJP had promised of implementing the same if it comes to power before election.
He went on to say that the prices of essential goods and commodities and other items have been shooting up country wide with the implementation of 7th Pay in most of the States.
However, the employees of the State Government are being compelled to bear the brunt of the price hike as the Government still declines to implement 7th Pay in the State, he added.
