Imphal, June 26 2011:
The 14 Manipur Battalion NCC, Imphal organised a rally in connection with International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today in Imphal.
Around 450 cadets of NCC from the infantry and air wing participated in the rally.
The rally started from DM College western gate, Imphal and headed upto Singjamei Super Market.
Manipur Legislative Speaker, I Hemochandra flagged off the rally from DM college at 9 am.
The rally was guided by Colonel Shantikumar Sapam, Commanding Officer, 14 Manipur Battalion NCC, Imphal and all ranks and staff of NCC Imphal were present in the event.
Lt.Bhabananda who also attended the event said to Hueiyen Lanpao that the rally was carried out to convey the message to the people that drug abuse does not lead to a healthy life.
He further asserted the 450 cadets who carried out the rally were students from class VIII to TDC and they showed that they lead a fit and healthy life as they are against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
