Imphal, February 20:

The student body has been demanding a review of the Cabinet decision adopted in 2005 for one time age relaxation and to fix upper age limits of prospective candidates of the competitive examination at 35 years for general, 38 for OBC and 40 ST/SC category.
Speaking to reporters DESAM president Ashirjit Luwang said that a memorandum and a reminder were submitted to the Government on the matter after the MPSC had issued notification for the combined civil services examination.
He further accused Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh of misleading the State Government and subduing interests of students.
Ashirjit further disclosed that more intense forms of agitation will be launched soon if the Government fails to come up with a positive response at the earliest.
