ZEO distributes toiletry items

Imphal, June 21 2017:
Toiletry items consisting of towels, buckets, mugs and soaps were distributed to various schools under ZEO Zone II on June 19 as a part of Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight.
The items were distributed with the aim of reducing the mortality rate of children due to diarrhoea by teaching proper hand washing techniques and other hygienic practices before eating the mid day meals.
The items distributed to the schools amounted to around Rs 150 per package.
ZEO M Premchandra Singh, AI Sanjoy Naorem and other officials took part in the distribution programme held at ZEO Zone II office, Porompat.
It may be mentioned that the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight began from June 12 and will go on till June 24.Various awareness programmes, diarrhoea related debates, lectures, painting competitions etc are also planned at various schools as a part of the function.
The toiletry items are to be supplied in a total of 3430 schools under the programme.
