Third International Yoga Day organised

Indian Oil Corporation Imphal Divisional Office in collaboration with Patanjali Yoga Samiti Chingmeirong Branch and Bharat Vikash Parishad Imphal City branch organised the Third International Yoga day at SS Devi Town hall, Chingmeirong today.
Indian Medical Council, Manipur, chairman Dr S Rajendro, former Principal of All India Basic Management Centre Dr S Kulachandra, former Prosecution Director Tejkumar and IOC's State level coordinator and Deputy General Manager Sinam Ibungoton attended the event as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Around 70 people participated in the event.
On the other hand, the Third International Day of Yoga 2017 was also celebrated with great enthusiasm at Ima Khunthokhanbi Hall, Thangmeiband under the aegis of the Manipur State Yoga Association.
CAF and PD Minister Karam Shyam attended the event as the chief guest and the day began with a Yoga Flag run by him.
Speaking at the event, he said that the benefits of Yoga are now known worldwide and the renewed global recognition and appeal towards Yoga should be credited to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that Yoga not only liberates the body and soul but also cleanses and purifies the body.
Karam Shyam said that Yoga is more popular with the women in the State as it helps in detoxifying the mind and reducing stress.
A seminar on Yoga was also held where experts spoke on various benefits of Yoga along with a Yoga demonstration which was attended by hundreds of participants.
President of Manipur State Yoga Association Oinam Budhi Singh and chief advisor of Manipur State Yoga Association A Ibotombi Singh also attended the function.
Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya also organised a peace rally from Kwakeithel to Palace compound and organised Third International Yoga day at Chandrakriti Auditorium hall.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) Imphal zone and Manipur University jointly observed the 3rd International Day of Yoga at Centenary Hall, MU today.
The occasion was graced by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip as chief guest; Vice-Chancellor of MU Adya Prasad as president; Yoga expert Prof Shrish Chandra Jha; Dean of Students' Welfare, MU Prof Kh Tomba Singh and State Director, NYKS Imphal Sahib Singh as guests of honour.
More than 2000 people representing youth clubs, schools, colleges, NSS, NCC, Red Cross, scouts and guides took part in a mass yoga demonstration which was performed under the guidance of Dr M Nodiachand Singh, Department of PESS, MU.
