Imphal, May 02 2021:
The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has appealed to the State Government to cancel the High School Leaving Certificate Examination without further ado.
In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, AMRPSWA secretary W Surjit Singh said that the academic activities of the students, particularly the students of the 10th standard have almost totally been spoiled by the Covid pandemic.
Saying that conducting the HSLCE 2021 at this juncture will be ridiculously unreasonable, he added that AMRPSWA has come up with a few solutions to save the future of these students.
"In line with CBSE notification dated 14th April 2021, an Objective Criterion may be developed by the BOSEM, and due promotion may be given to these 10th standard, students to the 11th standard on that basis at the earliest," he said, suggesting that students who are not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on the basis mentioned above may be given an opportunity to sit an exam as and when the conditions become conducive to hold the exam.
"In line with the Class XI exam conducted by COHSEM, a school based exam be arranged at the earliest with the question prepared (with Essay and Average Type component only i.e without the difficult component) and materials like answer khatas, attendance sheet by the school under the programme prepared by the BOSEM.
The BOSEM is then to provide the relevant tabulation sheet to each school to prepare the result (only star and division and no ranks).
The approved result can be used by the BOSEM to promote the students to 11th standard," he further suggested.
"E-examination/online examination may be held when the above situations are found not feasible in the existing circumstances", he continued.
