SSB observes rising day

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Sunday celebrated its 55th rising day at Thokchom Khun, Thoubal.
The SSB, earlier known as Special Service Bureau (SSB) Manipur, was established in Manipur on December 13, 1965.It is reported that the first training centre of SSB Manipur was opened at Thokchom Khul.
Retd Inspector of SSB, N Manihar; retd Sub Inspector Th Kunjakeshwor; retd, Inspector L Bishambor; retd H/C K Bormani and elders of Thokchom Khun - G Rame, W Ibomcha, T Madhuchandra and T Ibomcha as presidium members.
The gathering paid floral tributes to the monument pillar erected at the training centre.
The pillar is dedicated to SSB Head Constable Manimacha.
Later, the presidium members inaugurated the fencing around the Monument Pillar.
The gathering also observed silence for 2 minutes to pay respect to the deceased SSB personnel.
At the programme, Kunjakeshwor appreciated the locals of Thokchom Khun for always extending support to SSB.
