Death toll reaches 23

The death toll in the tragic accidents yesterday along the National Highways has reached 23 with the death of another individual at RIMS last night.
As of today, 22 victims have been identified though one body of a male is still lying unidentified at JNIMS.
One more person died last night at RIMS hospital after he, along with six other injured were brought from the accident site, Irang, by Nungba police personnel for treatment.
The victim who succumbed later and the three who remained unidentified till last night, have been identified as Ningombam Bihari (56) s/o (L) Chaoba of Thoubal Ningombam Utta Leirak, Heisnam Bhorot (50) s/o H Ibochouba of Porompat near JNIMS and residing at Chingmeirong Imphal, Md Majibur Rahman (45) s/o (L) Anamuddim of Kshetrigao Top Khongnangkhong and Thingbaijam Kuibati Devi (50) w/o (L) Th Manglemba of Dibong Ward number 10, Jiribam.
Five other injured persons in the Irang accident and undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Imphal are identified as Miss Christina Heisnam (18) D/o (L) Heisnam Bhorot of Porompat near JNIMS at Present Chingmeirong with multiple body fracture, N Pumsiamlal (42) s/o (L) Dalsian of G Veng New Lamka with fractures on left arm, right and right lower ribs and hip, Thangjam Prasanta (25) s/o (L) Bhumendro of Thoubal Kiyamsiphai Thangjam Leikai with head injury and fractured ribs, Thangjam Robert (26) s/o Thangjam Inaoton of Thoubal Kiyam with fracture on ribs, right leg and chest injury and Thongam Premananda (20) s/o T Ibochouba of Jiribam with head injury and fractured ribs.
