Veterinary campaign concludes

Director of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services Dr Th Jeevan Singh has assured that the Veterinary Hospital at Kasom Khullen in Ukhrul district will soon start functioning.
He was speaking at the concluding function of a four-day long veterinary campaign at Kasom Khullen in the afternoon yesterday.
Apart from imparting training to the farmers on livestock and poultry farming, livestock and poultry were also vaccinated during the campaign organised by the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services in association with Kasom Khullen Village Authority.
The multipurpose campaign had been inaugurated by Khunpu of Kasom Khullen Shinglai Hakshangmi on May 16 .
Mantri of Kasom Khullen Shinglai Kasomphung and secretary of Kasom Khullen Cattle Rearing Self-Help Group Elue Kanrei were also present at the occasion during which Joint Director of District Veterinary Office, Ukhrul Dr Thokchom Debendrakumar Singh, Veterinary Officers Dr Ngahorshai Luithui and Dr P Krishnamohon Singh spoke on the importance of livestock rearing in rural development and the facilities being provided by the Department in this regard.
As part of the campaign, around 200 pigs and 50 cattles including Mithuns have been vaccinated and ailing livestock and poultry birds treated along with distributing medicines free of cost among 54 farmers including 33 housewives who participated in the campaign.
