COVID-19 affected lot continue to receive help

As part of its initiative to provide assistance to frontline workers and COVID-19 affected people/groups, United Committee Manipur (UCM) COVID-19 Special Task Force distributed vegetables and other food items to orphan homes and children homes in Imphal area.
The distribution programme was led by UCM secy Khuraijam Athouba and secy (organization) Ng Deba Meetei and provided items for about 88 children, the press release stated.
On the other hand, UCM has alleged that there is a report of non-local(s) sneaking into the State amidst the lockdown, questioning the effectiveness of security measures taken up at border areas.
It has thus urged the State Government to strengthen the security measures to avoid such incidents, it said.
Stranded Manipuris helped
As per the request from IRCS Manipur State branch chairman and on instructions given by gen secy Madan Mohan Rao Garu, the State convenor of JRC YRC (IRCS Medchal district) Ramesh Miyyapuram has supported 17 Manipuri students studying in Nizamabad who are stranded in Hyderabad by providing 25 kgs rice, 10 kgs atta, 5 ltrs edible oil, 5 kgs dal, imli, haldi, chillies, soaps, shampoos, wafers, soft drinks, vegetables and medical supplies.
MLA K Ranjit reaches out
MLA of Sugnu AC MLA, K Ranjit has reached out to 3,150 households of 81 tribal villages in Chandel district by distributing 5 kgs of rice each.
Altogether 315 bags of rice were arranged for distribution to villagers under Chakpi Area Chiefs Association by Sugnu Block Congress Committee and Sugnu Kendra Development Committee.
UPF aids widows
The United peoples' Front (UPF), Manipur has extended help to widows below 60 yrs of Yumnam Huidrom area, Imphal West district and Nambol Naorem and Maibam area of Bishnupur district by providing essential items to them, informed a press release issued by UPF.
MMWO assist widows, orphans and differently abled persons
The Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) distributed food items to widows, orphans and differently abled person living in Mayai Keithel and Heyel Labuk area of Thoubal district.

The organisation has also urged all returnees to undergo the quarantine period at their respective AC quarantine centres.
TFit Manipur distributes relief materials
In view of the ongoing lockdown imposed by the Government to contain the spread COVID-19, TFit Manipur has provided relief materials of rice, potatoes, edible oil, salt and surf detergents to the residents of Ringpam village of Tengnoupal district.
TFit Manipur had also contributed towards the CM's relief fund and also distributed masks and soap to market areas and said that it will continue to extend help to the needy.
Tamei MLA gifts PPE, hand sanitizers
Awongbow Newmai, Tamei MLA today gifted PPE and hand sanitizers to the Medical Officer of Tamei PHC.
He also encouraged and appreciated the efforts put in by the medical team in combating COVID-19.Meanwhile, Namsinrei Panmei Chairman, ADC Tamenglong provided financial assistance of Rs 1000 each to all inmates of Community Quarantine centres at Tamei sub divisional Headquarters.
Altogether 11 people are stationed at the quarantine centre.
