Imphal, December 13 2020:
Alleging that some unscrupulous elements/agencies have been creating unpleasant situation within the Southern Angami traditional jurisdiction by trying to intrude into its 'territory', the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) has appealed to the Government of Manipur, agencies and organisations to restrain from such unwarranted and provocative acts of aggression which they say would only instigate more discord across the boundaries.
SAPO in a statement, said that it sincerely appreciates and acknowledges all neighbouring villages for honouring the age-old traditional boundary and protecting the resources/biodiversity, particularly of Dzuko and its surrounding areas.
It then appealed to the Govt of Manipur to honour the age-old mutual concurrence with regard to the traditional 'boundary practice' of the neighbouring villages or communities.
It also warned against any unlawful activities carried out in its jurisdiction by personnel from any agency, State Government, organisations or individuals and would respond befittingly for which SAPO would not be held responsible.
