President Pratibha, Governor, CM, GOC, greet people on Cheiraoba

President Pratibha Devisingh Patil, state Governor Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister, O Ibobi Singh, Major General DS Hooda of Red Shield Division and all ranks of 57 Mountain Division and many social organisations have extended their greetings to the people of state on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba (Cheiraoba), the New Year of the Meetei lunar calendar.
In her greeting to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Cheiraoba which also coincide with Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Chetti Chand and Navreh, President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil wishes that these festivals will bring prosperity, peace and happiness and also promote a spirit of oneness and harmony among the people.
Governor Gurbachan Jagat, in his greeting massage wishes that the celebration will usher in an era of peace, prosperity and progress in
the state.
Asserting that Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba is an important traditional festival of the state Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, in his greeting calls upon the people to resolve to set new goals and to strive for individual and collective well being.
"Let us also renew our thoughts and work with unity and dedication to make Manipur a more peaceful and prosperous state," he said.
Major General DS Hooda, GOC, Red Shield Division and all ranks of 57 Mountain Division in a message also extended their warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion.
May this festival bring peace, joy and prosperity to the people of Manipur, it added.
The Manipur People Party (MPP), Janata Dal (United), Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, MP, Dr T Meinya, Lainingthou Sanamahi Thougal Kanglup, Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup, Kangleipak, Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN), All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation and All Metiei Students' Union, Kangleipak also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion.
