Huge quantity of ammo unearthed

A huge quantity of ammunition believed to have been used during World War II were unearthed today while digging earth for construction of Moreh College campus in Tengnoupal district today.
According to reports, the ammunition unearthed by workers engaged in the construction work after which they informed Moreh police about the recovery.
Shortly, a team of Moreh police arrived and inspected the spot from where they found 16 rusty bombs and 600 live rounds of ammunition, it added.
Meanwhile a combined team of Imphal East district police and Narcotic Cell Imphal East arrested one drug seller and three drug users and seized a huge amount of drugs from Kairang Mamang Leikai under Heingang police station, Imphal East today afternoon.
According to a reliable source, a combined team of Imphal East district police consisting of Narcotic Cell Imphal East, women police personnel of Imphal East district and police personnel in plain clothes under the supervision of SDPO Porompat Mayengbam Roni carried out a surprise raid at Kairang Mamang Leikai area at around 3.30 pm.
One person identified as Md Aslam Khan (60) of Kairang Mamang Leikai was arrested along with a huge quantity of illegal drugs consisting of 560 Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) capsules, 105 World is Yours tablets and 100 N10 tablets estimated to be worth around Rs 20,000 in total.
The security team also pulled up three drug users during their drive.
All four individuals have been taken into police custody for initiating necessary legal action.
