Tamenglong College gets B Grade NAAC accreditation

Tamenglong, March 12 2023: Tamenglong College, Tamenglong has been accredited B Grade with a CGPA of 2.01 in the first Cycle by NAAC, Bengaluru.

It has been informed by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in a letter dated March 10, 2023 addressed to the Principal of the College, said a release issued by IQAC Coordinator, Tamenglong College.

The College, established in 1986 is the only College in Tamenglong district offering both BA and BSc courses under Manipur University.

The Principal, IQAC and entire team of Tamenglong College have extended their gratitude to NAAC, Government of Manipur particularly Directorate of University and Higher Education and all the stakeholders of Tamenglong district.

It may be mentioned that a NAAC Peer Team consisting of Dr M Krishnasamy, Vice-Chancellor, Periyar University, Salem, Madurai, Tamil Nadu as chairperson; Dr Shyam Bhat N, former Professor, Goa University, Goa as member coordinator and Dr Chandrakant Rawal, former principal, Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce, Pune as member, visited Tamenglong College on March 7-8, 2023 .

The Core agenda of Peer Team visit was to validate claims in SSR (Self-Study Report) pertaining to Qualitative Metrics submitted by the College.

The Peer Team interacted with the Principal, IQAC Coordinator and Heads of the Department of the College.

It was followed by Departmental visits, interaction with students, parents and alumni.

Students also conducted a cultural programme in honour of the Peer Team.

The Report of the Peer Team which included analysis of the weakness, strength and opportunities along with the recommendations for future improvement of the College was handed over to the Principal in the Exit Meeting.
