A good education system is needed to uphold the indigenous tradition of the indigenous people, said Shivdutta Luwang, Editor, Hueiyen Lanpao (Meetei Mayek Edition) today.
Speaking in a meritorious students' award distribution function held at Sangaiprou Community Hall organised by the Zeliangrong Students' Union, Imphal Valley Shivdutta said that it is very important to conserve the tradition and culture of an indigenous group for the future generations.
He said that inspiring students in today's era of competition is very important.
With the changing times, many beliefs and traditions have changed.
Unfortunately, the development in information and technology seems to be giving a serious blow to the indigenous people in conserving their traditional values and rich culture.
That is why a good education system is needed in order to conserve culture and tradition.
He criticized the present education system in the state in which students could not get any textbooks even in mid session.
Registrar, Cooperative Societies, T Panmei, IAS, who graced the function as chief guest, said that one can achieve anything with the right determination and will.
He urged the students of the state to strive for a better future.
