Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West, on April 29, ordered the release of Kshetrimayum Ningol Ngangkham Ongbi Sanajaobi (52), a senior marketing executive of Birla Emporium on bail.
She was arrested on charge of stealing CPU (Central Processing Unit) containing important files and documents from the office of Birla Emporium Sanajaobi of Khurai Konsam Leikai was produced before the Court after completion of police custody period along with a prayer for judicial custody remand for further investigation.
On the other hand, the defense counsel of the accused filed a remand objection along with a prayer for bail.
The case was on against the accused based on a complaint lodged by Yumnam Irabanta, Managing Director with the Imphal Police Station on April 24 .
It is being alleged that the senior marketing executive in collusion with unknown persons and some of his staff had stolen a CPU containing many important files of Birla Emporium.
During the hearing, the defense counsel submitted that as there were lots of complaints against the Managing Director of Birla Emporium Private Limited, the accused kept documents and other articles in her safe custody and the same were handed over to the police as asked.
The Court after hearing the submissions, released the accused on bail with a PR bond of Rs 50,000 with a surety of like amount.
The Court also directed the accused not to leave the State of Manipur without prior permission of the Court till the trial is over.
