CM to review Depts' works

With the aim to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the projects and initiatives taken up by the BJP Government, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, along with top officials of the Departments, will be reviewing all the initiatives.
On the other hand, despite the positive response and success garnered by the Go To Village Mission, the Social Welfare Department is leading the pack, with RD&PR in close second and works related to banking in third when it comes to the highest number of pending complaints.
According to an official source, the State Government has made necessary arrangements to begin reviewing the initiatives of various Departments from tomorrow.
The review of the Department targets, progress as well as the issues faced by the Departments will begin from 4 pm tomorrow with Agriculture and Veterinary and Animal Husbandry being the first to be reviewed.
RD&PR and Vigilance and Anti-Corruption will be reviewed on December 6, Water Resources and Minor Irrigation on December 7, PWD/Science and Technology/YAS on 10, Education/Higher and Technical Education/Election on 11, Forest and Environment/Fisheries/Horticulture and Soil Conservation on 14, Social Welfare/Transport/Cooperation on 18, Textile, Commerce and Industries/Sericulture on 19 and Medical/Health and Family Welfare/GAD on December 20, the source added.
The source continued that MAHUD/ Labour and Employment / Eco and Stats will be reviewed on December 21, Planning/Personnel and AR on 24, Power/TA and Hills/IPR on 26, PHED/Tourism on 27, CAF&PD/OBC and SC/Minority Affairs on 28, Revenue/Relief and Disaster Management/Art and Culture on 29 and Home Department and Information Technology will be reviewed on December 31 .
The source explained that the Departments concerned will furnish the necessary information to the Chief Minister with the help of power point presentation and the issues and steps to be taken up will be deliberated.
On the other hand, the source informed that Go To Village, which was launched on May 1 last year, has been able to cover 2364 villages till date and a total of 2,97,736 beneficiaries have enrolled at GTV camps and out of these, 2,03,598 beneficiaries have had their issues directly or indirectly addressed to by the Government and the Departments concerned.
84,520 beneficiaries are still under process, the source said adding that the Government is planning to cover all the villages before the coming Lok Sabha election.
However, the source conveyed that Social Welfare has taken the spot for the most number of pending complaints, with 34,575 beneficiaries whose problems are yet to be addressed.
RD&PR came in the second spot with 14,550 beneficiaries pending complaints, the source informed adding that the the number of pending number of beneficiaries for bank and related sector came at third with 6,938 pending complaints.
The source continued that till date, Agriculture (6478 complaints), CADA (33 complaints) Cooperation (2 complaints), Horticulture and Soil Conservation (3678), Labour (1735), Minority Affairs (160), Science and Technology (400) and Sericulture (1429) have been able to address all the complaints from the beneficiaries.
