Discussion on racial discrimination held

A one-day open discussion on racial discrimination in mainland India to the NE people was organised by the Joint Students' Coordination Committee at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School today.
General Secretary of North East Students' Organisation (NESO), Sinam Prakash and founder President of Fight for Your Pride, Dr Rahul Anand Singh attended the session as the presidium members.
Briefing media persons on the sideline, Convenor of JSCC Th Premananda said students of the State who are migrating to other mainland cities need to be sensitised on racial discrimination in the light of frequent reports of such discrimination against the North East people in various mainland Indian cities.
A Delhi based anti-racial discrimination initiative, Fight for Your Pride has highlighted its activities against racial discrimination during the discussion.
Dr Rahul Anand said his organisation is spreading awareness on racial discrimination in mainland Indian cities among the people particularly the students' community here.
He urged all concerned not to sweep under the rug any kind of racial discrimination case be it minor or major.
An interaction with representatives of Fight for Your Pride was also held.
