Imphal, August 22 2012:
The Zeliangrong Citizens Forum has strongly condemned the cold blooded murder of Chunthuigai Kamei, one of the most dedicated student leaders by NSCN (K) .
A statement issued by the ZCF stated that such heinous crime committed by an organization claiming to be working for the cause of the people is unthinkable and is not in consonance with the cause for which it was established while adding that the press statement of NSCN (K) giving lame excuse that the killing of Chunthuigai was by mistake, was not at all convincing and the perpetrators of the crime should be brought to justice at the earliest.
Appealing the NSCN (K) central leadership to take immediate actions against its erring cadres who had killed the ZSUM Secretary, the SCF statement asked the outfit to hand them over to the Zelingrong people for taking appropriate action as per customary law.
This is the only option for the NSCN (K) to restore its credibility in the eyes of the people.
If the NSCN(K) leadership did not take heed of the demand of the Zeliangrong people and continue to shield the culprits, then the blame will fall on the NSCN(K) as a whole and the Zeliangrong people will be left with no other option but to enforce the non cooperation against the NSCN(K) as was decided at the public meeting at Longmai during the funeral service of the late leader, the statement said.
It also appealed to all national workers irrespective of whichever organization they belong not to repeat such inhuman act in future because such actions will only propel peoples' alienation from them while adding that all arm groups must stop killing because it will not take the people anywhere; rather it will strip away even the open passage that the people could tread.
Meanwhile, the ZCF also appealed AZSU and ZSUM to erect a befitting Memorial Park in Zeliangrong land in memory of the departed leader who sacrificed his life during the tenure of his Office.
The ZCF also joined other Zelingrong people in paying deepest respect and love to the departed leader.
The ZCF saluted him with 'Zeliangrong Ringtelo' for which he lived and died.
