Imphal, April 17 2016:
The Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) has strongly opposed the press release made by Robert Kuki, chief of army staff of United Kuki Liberation Front (MC) for accusing the KRA leaders intervention in their abduction of JCB driver PA Chinaoshang from Sinakeithel village on March 3, for ransom.
The home secretary of KNO/KRA Jeremy Khongsai in a statement released today said that the matter was thoroughly investigated by the Auxiliary Wing (intelligence dept) and found that Robert Kuki press statement was totally baseless and fabricated and it was a false propaganda and designs to malign the image of KRA.
Further, KRA strongly condemned the attitude of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) who visited Gangpikon village on April 13 and held a meeting with the village authority and warned one of the villager involved in the abduction to produce the abducted driver before April 19 or else face a dire consequence.
KRA has appealed to TNL not to repeat such unwanted behaviour in the future, else they will not remain a silent spectator for which TNL shall be held responsible for any problems arising between the two communities in future.
Meanwhile Songphel Village Authority decried the warning/threat issued to the village over the abduction of PA Chinaoshang on April 3 by TNL and termed the allegation made by TNL against them as baseless.
