Public Information Campaign to be held

Imphal, September 22 2014:
Public Information Campaign (PIC) under the Government of India would be held in Vengnuom village, Churachandpur district from September 24 to september 26 under the initiative of the Press Trust of India in collaboration with All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Directorate of Field Publicity (DEP), Song and Drama Division (S&DD) and DAVP (Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity) .
The three day long campaign would be inaugurated by Thangso Baite, MP, Lok Sabha.
The aim of the programme is creating awareness among the public on Central Government schemes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Universal Mid-day meal, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Rural Drinking Water Supply, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojna), Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Pension Scheme, Rural Telephony and PM Jan Dhan Yojna.
Apart from these, a free medical camp will be conducted on the second day of the campaign while DAVP will also put up a photo exhibition stall.
