Observance of Fire Services week concludes

The week-long observance programme of Manipur Fire Service Day which commenced on April 14, came to a close today at Fire Services headquarters, Kangjeibung.
Director of Fire Services, Chandramani, during his speech at the closing event said that the week-long observation was organised with a view to spread awareness on prevention, adaptation of safe housekeeping practice and approved electrical appliances.
"The awareness programmes under the Department has been quite effective.
The rate of fire outbreak in the State has been remarkably reduced as compared to the 2012-13 figure," the Director stated.
The Director further lauded the Department staff and other District Fire Stations for their contributions in spreading awareness among the people.
"The public", he added, "has been much responsive.
This wouldn't have been possible without their cooperation" .
The Department's week-long Fire Service Day observation hosted various lecture cum demonstration programmes at different places.
24 selected officers from the Department who had successfully participated in these lecture cum demonstration programmes were also honoured during the closing event.
