Many decry Naga Crusaders' quit notice

Terming 'Naga Crusaders' as a fictitious organisation, different tribal bodies have decried the quit notice served to the people of Meitei community residing in hill areas of the State.
Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), the apex body of all the Tangkhul women organisations, strongly resented the quit notice served by the 'unknown organisation' .
TSL in a press release said, it has been unanimously resolved to clarify that the women's league of Ukhrul has no knowledge about the so-called 'Naga Crusaders' .
TSL also appealed not to create confusion and division amongst the people and different communities by issuing threats and ultimatum thereby creating fear psychosis.
Meanwhile, Tangkhul Naga Long, the apex body of the Tangkhuls, in this connection had a consultative meeting with the Meitei people residing in Ukhrul headquarters and apprised the situations for creating a conducive atmosphere and peaceful co-existence.
All Manipur Tribal Union (AMTU) and Naga People's Union Imphal (NPUI) also condemned the quit notice.
AMTU said it is absurd to serve quit notice to anyone from any area.
Condemning the so-called 'Naga Crusaders' directive, AMTU said vested interest elements aimed at creating confusion in the society are behind such activities.
AMTU appealed all sections of the society in Manipur not to be carried away by such propaganda.
While strongly condemning the quit notice, NPUI said such directive is not acceptable at all.
In a press release, NPUI President M Ngaranmi said nobody knows about the existence of the organisation with the name, 'Naga Crusaders', and if at all such organisation exists then those people behind such organisation do not possess rational mindset.
NPUI also termed the notice as done by vested interest people to create disharmony in the society.
Naga Peoples' Union said that such organisation with the name, 'Naga Crusaders' if it really exists should not be allowed to get inside the society.
