Manipur records one more death, 86 new cases

Imphal, April 22 2021:
The State recorded one more COVID related death and 86 new positive cases during the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
A 56-year old male from Imphal East expired at RIMS taking the death toll to 381 .
Among the 86 persons who tested positive, 1 was a flyer and he was among 53 air passengers who were tested in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, 86 persons including two personnel of CAPF were tested positive at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, RD Wing, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Swiss Clinic, Babina Diagnostics, Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati, Chandel and Churachandpur.
The 84 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (30), Imphal West (17), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (6), Kakching (14), Senapati (2), Churachandpur (9) and Chandel (2) .
Meanwhile 25 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (19), RIMS (2), JNIMS (2) and Shija Hospital (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 30,047 (general population 26,555 and Central security personnel 3,492) .
This figure includes 513 active cases (general population 467 and Central security personnel 46) and 29,153 recovered cases (general population 25,711 and Central security personnel 3,442) .
The recovery rate as on Thursday is 97.02 per cent.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 20 by Indigo flight 6E-524 in rows 5-11 and April 15 by Air India flight AI-713 in rows 11-17 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
As per latest information provided by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, the total number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State is 1,18,215 .
All persons above 45 years have been advised to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at vaccine centres of RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and select private hospitals.
