Eight more test positive, 901 vaccinated

Whereas eight civilians were tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS, JNIMS and Babina Diagnostics during the last 24 hours, 901 people were vaccinated against the virus on Saturday.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, the eight new positive cases belong to Imphal East (3), Imphal West (3), Churachandpur (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
On the other hand, seven COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (1), home isolation (3), Shija Hospital (1) and RD Wing (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,423 (general population 25,977 and Central security personnel 3,446) .
It includes 28,988 recovered cases (general population 25,554 and Central security personnel 3,434) and 61 active cases (general population 53 and Central security personnel 8).However, both the death toll and the recovery rate remain unchanged at 374 and 98.52 per cent respectively as compared to the previous day.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 2 by Indigo flight 6E-6181 in rows 4 to 10 have been informed to report to the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers.
Meanwhile, the total number of people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the State has reached 87,641 and this figure is inclusive of 901 people inoculated yesterday and 31,694 health care workers.
