Thoubal, July 17 2022: Khangabok AC MLA, Okram Surjakumar today flagged off a bike rally against drugs from Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Salam Makok, Thoubal district.

The rally was organised by Social Welfare Association (SWA), Sangaiyumpham under the theme, "No to Drugs, Yes to Life" .

It was participated by Thoubal Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha, Hasina Begum; Thoubal District Police SP, Jogeshchandra Haobijam; Sangaiyumpham Zilla Parishad member, Md Hibjur Rahman; Sangaiyumpham Part (I) Gram Panchayat pradhan, Md Zakir; Sangaiyumpham Part (II) Gram Panchayat pradhan, Md Wahidur Rahman and SWA president, Md Ziaur Rahman.

Speaking on the occasion, O Surjakumar extended his appreciation to Thoubal Police, elected members of Local Self Government and other officials for their assistance in making the rally a success.

He also urged all to support the War on Drugs 2.0 mission of the State Government.

SWA & MSDO Sangaiyumpham, Central Committee chairman, Md Zamir Khan stated that the rally was organised to spread awareness on ill effects of drug abuse.

Later, a public meeting was also held at Idigah Lampak wherein it was unanimously decided to constitute an "Anti-Drug Association" in Sangaiyumpham.
