A five-day Pre-Season Workshop Programme 2024-25 for umpires, match referees and scorers organised by Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium concluded on Monday.
Speaking as resource person, BCCI and ICC Panel former umpire Amish Saheba expressed confidence that the workshop will help the participant umpires and referees for the upcoming season.
He emphasised that for efficient umpiring one should work hard, be sincere and maintain fitness along with striving to imbibe qualities of judicious decision making, match and player management.
The person should be adept in smoothly conducting T20, ODI and multiday games as per rules and regulations, he noted.
Sharing his 40 years' experience from grassroots level to the top of cricket with the participants, Amish stressed that as Manipuri umpires and referees have exhibited great potentials they must be encouraged to officiate in national and international level matches.
He also praised MNCA for organising the workshop and hoped that such workshops will be held annually to update the match officials and players on new rules and help them in maintaining their higher status.
At the conclusion of the workshop, MNCA presented gifts to the resource persons Amish Saheba and BCCI scorers' educator Jayapal P .
