17th Manipur State League : YPHU regain Group A pole position with 4-0 drubbing of Elite FA

Imphal, March 29 2025: YPHU, Lalambung Makhong eased 4-0 past Elite FA, Kontha Ahallup to regain their position on top of Group A table in the 17th Manipur State League.

Thongam Priyaball scored twice in the team's 5th victory as Irengbam Indrajit and Konsam Rojit added a goal apiece.

Neither team were able to make the most of the first half chances but YPHU entered the second half with more purpose and broke the deadlock courtesy of Thongam Priyaball at the stroke of the hour-mark.

Priyaball was at it again 7 minutes later to double the advantage before Indrajit joined the fray and made it 3-0 after 69 minutes.

YPHU kept pressing despite the comfortable 3-0 lead and raced to a 4-0 lead after 72 minutes through Konsam Rojit.

YPHU then held on to their lead to remain unbeaten in 8 games and go top on 18 points above close contenders UPAA, Kyamgei who are also on 18 points off 6 wins but have fewer goal count (13 against YPHU's 17) .

In another Group A encounter, MPSC thrashed TRAU, Kwakeithel by 4-1 goals courtesy of a double from Elangbam Birendrakumar.

MPSC got off to a flying start and entered the break with a 3-1 lead as Khem Bahadur (6') and Elangbam Birendrakumar (9', 25') were on target against Phijam Shrinivas' 8th minute goal for TRAU .

Thangjam Kiran then rounded off the scoring in the 83rd minute.
