Agni Chopra hit an unbeaten 170 off 203 to help Mizoram post a commanding total of 375 runs for 4 wickets against Manipur at stumps (90 overs) on Day 1 of their third match of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group at Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Nadiad, Gujarat.
Mizoram won the toss and opted to bat first.
It was a good start to their first innings for Mizoram, who registered a resounding 267-run victory against Arunachal Pradesh in the previous match, as Lalhriatrenga and Marty Lalrinhlua forged a 69 run opening partnership off 128 balls before Ahsanul Kabir set up Lalhriatrenga catch when he was 2 runs away from making a half century to end the partnership.
Agni Chopra who came in at no 3 and Marty Lalrinhlua then added 48 runs for the second wicket before Pheiroijam Jotin got rid of Marty Lalrinhlua for 29 runs in the 31st over.
Jotin also bowled out incoming Lalthankhuma on a 10-ball duck for his second wicket and to reduce Mizoram to 119/3 but Agni Chopra and Jehu Anderson combined well to take on Manipur bowlers and forged 144 runs off 187 balls for the fourth wicket.
Sultan Karim then broke the partnership by removing Jehu Anderson for 67 runs as the scoreboard read 263/4 after 67 overs.
Agni Chopra 170 (off 203 balls) and Mohit Jangra 38 (off 66 balls) were unbeaten as they closed the day at 375/4 .
