MPA-A, WFC triumph in Panthoibi Trophy

Imphal, January 23 2025: MPA-A and WFC both registered an identical 4-3 victory in the 2nd Ima Panthoibi Trophy 2025 at Thounaojam playground, Kakching, on Thursday.

MPA-A edged past MPA-B 4-3 with strikes from Salaingamba (2), Avinash (27), Lanngamba (38) and Arklish (50).MPA-B responded with goals from Zidane (19), Suraj (25), and Roshan (36), but ultimately fell short in their efforts.

In the other match, WFC triumphed 4-1 over Wangkhem FC, with Akon netting a hat-trick.

Akon gave WFC an early 2-0 advantage, scoring in the 2nd and 4th minutes.

Wangkhem FC reduced the deficit to 2-1 through Sack in the 13th minute, but Akon completed his hat-trick in the 25th minute, extending WFC's lead.

Langamba added another goal in the 28th minute to further solidify WFC's advantage.

Despite spirited responses from Wangkhem FC, who scored through Amarjit (33) and Pritam (48), the team was unable to mount a successful comeback, and WFC held on to claim the victory.
