GFC win 1st YKC Trophy Futsal tournament

Bishnupur, June 22 2025: GFC Kha Potshangbam defeated REM SAPA Nungshai Chiru in a penalty shootout in the final of the 1st YKC Trophy Open Knockout 5-a-side Futsal; held at Nachou Public Ground on Sunday.

The match went to penalties after ending in a 2-2 draw.

In the shootout, Kha Potshangbam prevailed 3-1 to claim the title.

Earlier in the match, Romesh (8', 41') scored twice for GFC, while Khangular (10') and Thamson (36') found the net for REM SAPA.

Individual awards were given to GFC's H Romesh (best player) and REM SAPA' s Jabeth (best goalkeeper), while REM SAPA were also named the best disciplined team.

The closing ceremony was attended by MLA Bishnupur, Govindas Konthoujam, as the chief guest; MLA Moirang, Th Shanti Singh, as the president; and BJP Bishnupur Mandal president, N Raghumani Singh, as the guest of honour.

Also present were N Jadu Singh, pradhan of Nachou Gram Panchayat; L Menjor Singh, chairman of Nachou Zilla Parishad; and K Ningthouremba Singh, a social worker.
