MNCA Elite: All-round Anand helps MODEL defeat SCCC by 2 wickets

Imphal, January 22 2025: Anand Naorem dished out an all-round performance to help MODEL defeat SCCC by 2 wickets in Wednesday's action of the 9th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024-25 at Model Hr Sec School & Oriental College Ground.

After electing to bowl first, MODEL restricted SCCC to a total of 207/7 .

SCCC's innings was anchored by a resilient 71 from Ulenyai Khwairakpam, with valuable contributions from Laishram Ronson (37), Moirangthem Thomas (33 not out), and Lishan Meitei Khaidem (22) .

Anand Naorem led MODEL'S bowling attack, claiming 3 wickets, while Langlon-yamba Singh added 2 scalps, and Kisan Wahengbam and Waikhom Priyokumar picked up one wicket each.

In response, Anand Naorem showcased his all-round prowess with an unbeaten 71 off 56 deliveries, guiding MODEL to chase down the target in 39.1 overs with two wickets in hand.

He was well-supported by Kisan Wahengbam (37), Maisnam Tejkumar (24), and Thoudam Deepak (18), who made crucial contributions to the successful chase.

For SCCC, Moirangthem Thomas picked up 3 wickets, while Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum and Lishan Meitei Khaidem claimed 2 wickets apiece, and Khaidem Joyraj chipped in with one.
