MU, WMG win college chess tourney

Imphal, October 21 2024: Manipur University won the men's title as Waikhom Mani Girls' (WMG) College wrest the women's top honours in the Khuraijam Ramnarayan Shastri Memorial Manipur University Inter-College Chess (Men & Women) Tournament, 2024-25 held at Nambol Sanoi College Fitness Centre Hall on Monday.

The opening ceremony of the tournament hosted by Nambol L Sanoi College under the aegis of Manipur University Sports Committee, Canchipur was attended by College principal W Jyotimoy, College Staff Association president S Trilokchandra, IQAC coordinator A Tejmani and Khuraijam Ramnarayan Shastri Memorial Trust secretary Kh Ingo-cha as presidium members.

In men's competition, Moirang College and YK College finished second and third respectively, while MU and Nambol L Sanoi College were second and third respectively in women's category.
