Thungcheng triumph in WVAA Sports Meet

Imphal, January 15 2025: Thungcheng eased their way to a 3-0 victory over Beru Unopat-A in a Pool A match in the football event of the Western Valley Area Annual Sports Meet 2025 at Khambathel playground, Chandel district, on Wednesday.

St Shingval opened the scoring in the 30th minute as Wartha doubled the lead in the 77th minute before AT Yaomeya sealed the win with an 83rd-minute goal.

Earlier on Tuesday, the opening ceremony was held with Mayanglambam Rajkumar, deputy commissioner Chandel, Hl Lovingson Anal, special contractor and vice -president DSA Chandel, and Md Tajuddin, SDO Chakpikarong, attending as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour, respectively.

A total of 12 football are competing in the football event, while 11 teams, com prising men and women, are vying for honours in the volleyball event.
