State players shine at MMA C'ship

Imphal, May 13 2024:
Manipur's MMA players won eight gold, two silver and five bronze medals in the 7th National MMA Championship held at Raipur, Chhattishgarh from May 7 to 12 .
In a release, Aztecs Sports Manipur manager Thounaojam Bikash informed that out of 21 players who participated in the championship Malemnganba, Kenorish, Priyangka, N Beerjit, Olivia, M Island, Nikison and Melody won made top podium finishes, as Nou-shad Ali and Wakash secured silver medal and M Sadananda, Prajit Kangabam, Radclif, Estillibas and B Akash Sharma had to be contented with the bronze medals.
Mixed Martial Arts Authority of Manipur president Thangjam Premananda and general secretary Salam Lemba Meitei team commended team coach Laishram Birbal along with informing that gold medals winners should prepare for participating in the Asian Championship MMA in Pakistan in June.
The release also conveyed that Aztec Sports and Fight Studio founder Dr Thangjam Parmananda Singh hailed the emerging players and exhorted them to bring more laurels for the state.
