TRAU, RCA, PTRC, AMCA register contrasting wins in MNCA U-16 Boys' Trophy

Imphal, November 11 2024: TRAU and RCA recorded comprehensive wins, while PTRC and AMCA also prevailed in the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy on Monday.

TRAU vs SSC

TRAU delivered a commanding 235-run victory over SSC at the Lairenjam Public Ground.

Opting to bat first, TRAU posted a formidable total of 265/4 in their allotted 35 overs.

The innings was anchored by a brilliant unbeaten 109 from Mutum Swabhiman, supported by contributions from Huiningshumbam Luching (55) and Ishorchandra Loitongbam (33) .

Potsangbam Jeet Singh added a useful 14, while Preethson Arubam remained not out on 2.SSC's bowlers - Ruhan Bm, Anish Lasker, Sadique, and Nadir - each claimed one wicket, but they struggled to break through as TRAU's top order built a steady platform.

In response, SSC's chase faltered disastrously, as they were bowled out for just 30 runs in 14 overs.

The team's batting crumbled under pressure, with seven players failing to register a score, leaving just four batters to contribute a total of 12 runs.

TRAU's bowlers were ruthless, with Mutum Swabhiman leading the charge, taking 4 wickets.

Preethson Arubam and Ringku Moirangthem also made significant contributions with 3 and 2 wickets, respectively, wrapping up a commanding victory for TRAU.

RCA vs KASC

RCA also recorded an emphatic win, beating KASC by 177 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

RCA, electing to bat, amassed 246/4 in 33 overs.

The standout performer was Zuned, who remained unbeaten on 100, supported by Md Anush (53), Md Safwan Ahamed (50 not out), and Md Samir Khan (29) .

The RCA batting depth ensured a steady flow of runs, and despite losing a wicket to Leishangkhong Maqubul Fida Ali, Mohammad Sakif Hussain, Md Abdulgani, and Jaheer, their total proved beyond KASC's reach.

KASC's response fell well short, as they were bowled out for a mere 69 runs in 22.3 overs.

RCA's bowlers produced a disciplined attack, with Zuned and Md Irfan each picking up 2 wickets.

Nawaz Sarif, Nongjaimayum Masud Alam, Md Soib Hassan, and Farhan Ahmed each claimed one wicket to complete a dominant all-round performance.

PTRC vs KSDO

PTRC secured a 36-run victory over KSDO at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.

PTRC, batting first, were dismissed for 184 runs in 34.1 overs, with Laitonjam James Singh the standout performer.

His remarkable 124 off 75 balls was the backbone of PTRC's innings, while Ngashepam Shivason Singh (14) and Bush Sagolsem (10) were the only other notable contributors.

For KSDO, Kh Firdos, Mohammed Soheb, and Md Abu Sufiyan were the key wicket-takers, with 4, 3, and 2 wickets, respectively.

In reply, KSDO failed to mount a serious challenge, ending their innings at 148 in 33.2 overs.

Laitonjam Jackson Singh led PTRC's bowling attack with a brilliant 4-wicket haul, while Laitonjam James Singh contributed with 3 wickets.

Bush Sagolsem, Ngambarel Naoshekpam, and Henba Paonam each picked up a wicket.

Kh Firdos (36), Khutheibam Washim Aktar (20), and Md Washim (15) were the only KSDO batters to reach double figures as PTRC sealed a comfortable victory.

AMCA vs YUCC

AMCA emerged victorious over YUCC by 18 runs at Khu-deiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang).

AMCA, batting first, were bowled out for a modest 106 in 22.2 overs.

Moichingmayum Mohammad Anash (19), Thoubalmayum Mustakim (19), Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan (12), and Rolin Moijingcha (11) made the only significant contributions to AMCA's innings, as they struggled against YUCC's bowlers.

For YUCC, Shresth Oinam was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets, while K Malangba and Rajbir Khumanthem also claimed 3 wickets each, with Loitongbam Joychand and N Reshan adding one apiece.

Despite their subpar batting performance, AMCA's bowlers turned in a clinical display to bowl out YUCC for just 88 in 17.5 overs.

Thoubalmayum Mustakim led the charge with 4 wickets, while Hanif impressed with 3 wickets, and Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan chipped in with 2 wickets to secure a well-earned victory for AMCA.
