MNCA Elite: PTRC, CYCLONE claim contrasting victories

Imphal, February 10 2025:
PTRC and CYCLONE recorded contrasting victories in Monday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25.PTRC thumped KCC by 116 runs in their meeting at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Batting first, PTRC posted a formidable total of 277/9, with notable contributions from Ngariyanbam Jameson (58), Khangembam Santosh (57), Chingakham Bidash (45), Raj Kumar Rex (26), Ngariyanbam Johnson (23), and Loitongbam Shitaljit (21) .
Janab and Sunil Salam were the main bowlers for KCC, claiming four and three wickets, respectively.
In response, KCC managed to bat through the full 40 overs but fell short, finishing at 161 despite Rohit Singh's resilient 75 not out.
PTRC's bowling unit, led by Tamarland Pheiroijam (3 wickets), received support from Raj Kumar Rex, Bishworjit Konthoujam, Ngariyanbam Johnson, Deepak, and Salam Richie, who each claimed a wicket to seal an emphatic win.
Elsewhere, CYCLONE endured a tense battle to secure a narrow five-run victory over CHAMP.
Opting to bat first, CYCLONE were bowled out for 190 in 39 overs, with key contributions from Nongthombam Denin (43), Kishan Laishram (32), Loktongbam Santosh (21), Ningthoujam Thoiba (21), Muhammed Al Bashid (16), and Reolin Oinam (12*) .
Md Sultan Karim was the standout bowler for CHAMP, taking four wickets.
CHAMP mounted a spirited chase, led by Samir's valiant 83, but ultimately fell just short, being dismissed for 185 in 39.3 overs.
Loktongbam Santosh starred with the ball for CYCLONE, claiming four wickets, while Nongthombam Denin took three and Kishan Laishram added one to secure a thrilling victory for their side.
