Inter-School Sports Meet concludes, Saklim School boys clinch football title

The Senapati District Inter-School Sports Meet 2024 concluded on a high note on Wednesday.
Different games including football (boys), volleyball (boys & girls), individual games like long jump, high jump and shot put were held during the sports meet that began on August 3 at Senapati Outdoor Stadium.
The valedictory programme was graced by DC Senapati Mamoni Doley as the chief guest and CEO ADC Senapati Adahrii Maheo as the guest of honour.
In her speech, chief guest Mamoni Doley advocated for organising more events to unnite people, emphasising that this was only the beginning.
She congratulated the winners and encouraged the losers to stay motivated, noting that both winning and losing are part of life.
Doley highlighted the achievements of notable Olympians, attributing their success to determination and perseverance, and urged the youth to excel in their fields to bring recognition to their, district, state, and nation.
ADC CEO Adahrii Maheo praised the event's organising team and participating schools for their talent, perseverance, and resilience despite the tough weather.
Maheo also expressed her hope that the district will produce future Olympians.
Saklim High School beat Mt Everest School bagged the football title.
Savio High School, Tungjoy won the girls' volleyball event after defeating Netaji Subhashchandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya, Bendramai in the final.
Rosary High School, Purul beat St.
Xavier's School, Makhan to win the boys' volleyball title.
In the girls' long jump, Thohrii Marine from DBS, Senapati took first place, Chamwiliu Chawang from Mt Everest came in second, and Ramela from Samaritan Public School finished third.
In the boys' long jump, Lungring from Saklim School took first place.
Sujeet Gupta from Mt.
Zion and Ranuba Benjamin from Mt Carmel Academy shared second place, while Jimmy from Bethany School came in third.
In the girls' high jump, Liya Moktan from Bethany School took first place, N Asayia from St Xavier School came in second, and Chamwiliu Chawang from Mt Everest grabbed third.
In the boys' high jump, Th.Khole from Mt Carmel took first place, Ngulminlun Chongloi from Bethany School came in second, and Michael from Mave School finished third.
In the girls' shot put event, Sabina Rai from Saklim School took first place, Kasane from Mt Carmel came in second, and Athiphro Kholi from Bethany School grabbed third.
In the boys' shot put, Jimmy from Bethany School took first place, Mapoiying from NSCBAV Bendramai came in second, and Pungdi Alves grabbed third.
