Inter-School chess gets underway

Imphal, July 06 2024:
The 1st DCA Inter-School Chess Tournament, organised by D Chess Academy, Uripok, began at Pitambara English School, Kwakeithel on Saturday.
The tournament drew 327 players (including 38 girls) from 38 different schools.
After two rounds on the first day of the three-day tournament, 76 players earned two points each.
Day 2 of the competition will see four rounds, followed by three on the last day.
The opening function was attended by T Phulen Meitei, director YAS Manipur, Kh Nilima Devi, principal Pitambara English School, and RK Bhogen Singh, honorary secretary MCA, as chief guest, president and guest of honour, respectively.
