THAU crush SHADOW in MNCA Women's Trophy

Imphal, March 05 2025: In a lopsided encounter of the 4th MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy, THAU delivered a clinical performance to thrash SHAiDOW by 221 runs at the THAU Ground on Wednesday.

Op ting to field after winning the toss, SHADOW struggled to contain a rampant THAU batting lineup, which posted a formidable 310/7 in 35 overs.

Captain Kalpana Devi Keisham led the charge with a blistering 128 off 86 balls, including 19 boundaries and a six, while Monica Devi Ningthoujam retired out after a swift 50 (36 balls).

Contributions from Robeni Usham (22) and Milan Chanu Yambem (19) further bolstered the total, aided by 54 extras from wayward SHADOW bowling.

SHADOW's reply never gained momentum, collapsing to 89 all out in 24.3 overs.

Wicketkeeper Viviene Laishram top-scored with 18, but THAU's bowlers dominated as Wangkhem Nganbi Chanu starred with 4/20, while Monica Devi Ningthoujam (2/9) and Milan Chanu Yambem (1/4) applied relentless pressure.

SHADOW's innings featured three run-outs and a flurry of wides (28), underscoring their disarray.
